Job Description:

The Town of Aberdeen is seeking candidates for a full-time Finance Technician position. The Finance Technician's primary duties consist of all activities associated with the utility billing process to include preparation of the utility bills, loading and unloading the handheld readers, checking for accuracy, utility bill preparation and mailing. Position will collect and post customer payments, adjustments, and miscellaneous transactions to the appropriate customer account, collect and document the receipt of payments from customers, customer complaints, prepare notification of late payment, cut off of utilities and cut on of utilities.Requirements: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance related position Excellent computer skills including usage of Microsoft Excel and Word Experience with Financial Software/Utility Billing Software Above average abilities to build interpersonal relationships Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent oral and written communications Broad working knowledge of financial management functions including utility cash managementMust possess a valid NC driver's license and ability to obtain NC Notary Public within 6 months of hire. The successful applicant must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and credit check. Salary range: $37,112 - $45,000, with excellent benefits package including 5% 401-k contribution, Local Governmental Employees Retirement System membership, paid medical, dental and life insurance, 12 paid holidays + paid birthday day off, vacation and sick leave, and annual longevity payment.
