Position Information

Position Title Student Learning Center Facilitator/Instructor (Science) Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time facilitator/instructor position in the Student Learning Center. The ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, resolve student issues, and work well with others is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in effectively communicating information and providing excellent customer service is essential. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

Duties
Essential Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide quality supplemental instruction to face-to-face and online students.

Monitor and improve student retention.

Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments conducive to student learning, engagement, and retention.

Select materials/resources to meet the instructional and learning needs of the individual student.

Be skilled in the use of all materials and equipment in the Student Learning Center.

Recommend to the Director of the Student Learning Center the type and quality of material and equipment needed for instructional/tutorial purposes.

Be skilled in filing and retrieving student information electronically and through other sources.

Be familiar with all courses offered on and off campus.

Assist with registration events and advisory duties as assigned.

Maintain proper, scheduled work hours.

Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.

Participate in staff committees and other activities as assigned.

Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related field or a Master's Degree with 18 graduated hours in biology, chemistry, or physics and documented experience teaching the course. Excellent communication, both oral and written, skills necessary.
Preferred Requirements
Teaching experience in Biology, Chemistry, Physics at a community college or four-year college level.
