Fulfillment of Mission The Roger Bacon Academy is an education
management organization that manages multiple charter schools in
southeastern North Carolina. The Classical Charter Schools of
Wilmington, located in Wilmington, NC has an opening for an
Interventionist. The position of Interventionist reports to the
Headmaster. This position is a 10-month position that follows the
school academic calendar. The following mission outlines the
expectations of all employees at the school level as well as
employees of The Roger Bacon Academy in providing support to the
schools: Our understandings of humankind and our universe are
expressed and communicated through all of our arts and sciences.
Each method of expression language, painting, music, mathematics,
and science has its rules and techniques for effectively
communicating these ideas and understandings. These rules and
techniques are the bridges over which ideas must be communicated
from one generation to the next. Thus, our Mission is: To teach the
rules and techniques for effective expression and communication in
the arts and sciences. To communicate, by these arts and sciences,
our understandings of the universe and our role in it. To instill a
love of learning and discovery justifying a lifelong dedication to
health, truth, and virtue. Paramount for every job at every level

Interventionist Job Responsibilities Purpose: The Interventionist
provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for
academic services in individual, and/or small group settings. The
position supplements the Content Teacher in successfully preparing
students with the knowledge and strategies they will need in order
to master the curriculum and achieve a passing score on
standardized tests. To also help students learn skills that will
contribute to their social development. Duties and
Responsibilities: Instructs students in a small group setting using
content materials provided by academic coaches. Uses identified
needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of
school standards. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons,
units and projects using formal and informal assessment data
obtained from students. Follow all rules, policies and procedures
of The Roger Bacon Academy, along with state and federal
regulations pertaining to school issues. Create a classroom
environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the
maturity and interests of students. Provides evidence of
preparation and planning upon request of supervisor. Assess the
accomplishments of intervention students on a regular basis and
provide progress reports as required. Assist the administration in
implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and
conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of
classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the
classroom in a fair and just manner. Counsel with colleagues,
students, and/or parents on a regular basis. Encourage and reward
positive behavior. Attend grade level and staff meetings, serves on
staff committees and carries out non-instructional duties as
required as assigned. Produce instructional data reports in
accordance with calendar from Lead Teacher and Coaches. Remain
flexible and positive for any given assignment. Qualifications The
Interventionist will have the following experience and attributes:
An Associates degree or proof of completion of at least two years
of college credits in any field is required; focus in education and
early childhood development desired. Ability to maintain a clean
and orderly environment. Ability to perform clerical duties.
Ability to operate common office machines. Ability to maintain
basic files and records. Ability to understand and follow oral and
written directions. Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships as necessitates by work assignments.
