Seeking a mechanic responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repair of trucks and trailers. They typically work most holidays and aspects of the role can often be physically demanding. Mechanics require a high level of automotive and mechanical knowledge in order to diagnose, fix or replace parts of a truck or trailer. They complete general and complex maintenance tasks including oil changes, mechanical part replacements, diagnosis of electrical issues and the repair thereof, aftertreatment maintenance and engine overhauls.

Mechanics are required to perform a range of duties that can differ from day to day depending on the jobs that they are assigned. This can include anything from routine maintenance work to specialized repairs. Other duties include:

• Assess trucks and/or trailers to accurately diagnose and repair issues
  
• Routine inspections of trucks and trailers
  
• Keep an accurate log of all work performed
  
• Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
  
• Adhere to company work safety policies
  A successful candidate will require various skills and qualifications in order to perform their duties as a mechanic. This includes possessing a high degree of knowledge in order to be a specialist in the automotive field. Some of the basic skills and qualifications a mechanic might need include:
  
  • Experience conducting routine maintenance on trucks and trailers
    
  • Demonstrated experience inspecting trucks for faults and repairs
    
  • Practical knowledge of heavy-duty diagnostic equipment
    
  • Sound problem-solving skills
    The current opening at our shop is a regular 4:00pm- 1:00am shift Monday thru Friday. Pay is total based on experience and can range from $10/hour to $30/hr. Some weekend work is required but only if needed.
