Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Participate in and lead the continuous improvement and overall
management of St Pauls Quality, ensuring compliance with corporate
requirements, ISO and all other applicable quality standards
- Work with all areas of the company to develop, implement and
audit key business processes, procedures and work instructions
- Initiate, monitor, complete, and audit Corrective Actions for
effectiveness
- Participate in and lead problem solving activities related to
the St Pauls Quality
- Support all initiatives relating to cost of quality/cost of
failure
- Provide necessary support for St. Pauls to ensure continued ISO
certification by being an internal auditor and conducting monthly
Internal ISO Audits
- Support the Tiered Daily Management Process and Continuous
Improvement Operating System
- Provide training and support the development of St. Pauls
staff
- Lead and provide support for Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects
and daily activities that will support manufacturing, engineering
and quality efforts.
- Follow a Six Sigma DMAIC road map to drive continuous
performance improvements and cost reductions
- Complete root cause investigations and implements corrective
actions and preventive actions by participating on problem solving
teams
- Provide support for Customer facing and St. Pauls facing
Quality activities. Customer facing activities include the active
management and improvement of St. Pauls Customer Quality
metrics
- Collecting, tracking, and improving metrics for customer
product and non-product issues; support yearly goal planning and
customer metrics improvement
- Initiating Corrective Actions for pervasive Customer issues;
providing effective response to customer complaints
- St. Pauls facing activities include the active management and
improvement of St. Pauls Quality metrics
- Collecting, tracking, and improving metrics for St. Pauls
quality performance for internal quality and supplier quality
issues including scrap, rework, and process quality; support yearly
goal planning and Sites' metrics improvements
- Initiating Corrective Actions for pervasive internal quality
issues and supplier quality issues and providing sustained follow
up for corrective action effectiveness
- Be a key participant in the New Product Development process
ensuring process rigor; completing all deliverables of the NPD
process, and applying NPD principles to the large amount of custom,
low volume/high mix business in the St. Pauls plant.
- Actively participate and support new St. Pauls
initiatives.
- Support domestic or international Codes and Standards
activities as requiredEDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or manufacturing
area requiredMANAGEMENT:
- No direct reports - influence positionREQUIREMENTS:
- Must have 5 to 7 years' experience with the use and
implementation of Quality concepts in a manufacturing
environment.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Required.
- Prior experience with the implementation and use of Statistical
Process Control and Continuous Improvement Tools
- Must have experience in basic Metrology and Calibration.
- Certified Lead Auditor or ISO Auditor is a plus
- Supervisory and/or management experience in a manufacturing
environment is a plus
- Required to travel domestically, percentage varies.PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
- Works in an office environment
- May have regular exposure to the plant floor and QA lab.
- Ability to move throughout the plant and office areas.
- Alternates between sitting, standing, and moving within the
work area.
- Must be able to manipulate equipment used in performance of
tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
