Chemours is seeking Chemical Technicians to join our growing Fayetteville Works team! This position will report directly to the Operations Manager at our Fayetteville, NC location.

The minimum starting pay is 24.05/hour. Through training and added qualifications pay can progress to $37.74/ hour.

The Chemical Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting chemical process equipment. Work 12 hours rotating shift (including weekends and holidays) and overtime. Starts-up, operates, maintains and shuts-down equipment per operating procedures. Field operation of process equipment including vessels, valves, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, related controls and instrumentation to keep the process operating at desired production levels. This includes making rounds, following check sheets, taking samples, and conducting periodic patrols of assigned equipment to regulate system pressures, temperatures, etc.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safely monitoring the Control Room Process of the operations.
  • Load/unload, trucks, and other containers to manage raw material and product inventories.
  • Perform routine mechanical tasks and minor preventive maintenance such as taking oil samples, minor hand tool work for adjustments, opening flanges for clean out, preparing equipment by isolating, purging, cleaning, and locking out equipment.
  • Issue work orders, prepare job plans, and prep equipment to maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Review and revise job procedures, schedule work, manage overtime and personal timecard on computer systems.
  • Train and assist other personnel as needed.
  • Operate various types of mobile equipment.
  • Participate in emergency response activities.
  • Exercise judgment and work independently and with others with minimal supervision. Keep supervision informed of issues in the area.
  • Know and adhere to safety, environmental and housekeeping responsibilities, and rules.


    The following is required for this role:
    • Must be 18 years of age
    • High School diploma or equivalent plus at least one of the following:
    • Two years of work experience in a chemical, mechanical, or electrical process. This may include manufacturing, maintenance, electrical, and/or instrumentation experience or military equivalent experiences.

      or
      • A two-year associate/technical degree. Prefer degree to be in manufacturing technology, maintenance, electronic, electrical, or engineering. Need to provide copy of education transcripts if interview.
      • Valid Driver's License
      • Ability to work 12 hours rotating shifts (including weekends and holidays) and overtime, under various conditions including some outside work in all weather conditions
      • Demonstrated computer skills
      • Demonstrated knowledge of math, the ability to understand trend charts and scale reading
      • Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to self- manage and function as a team member of a diverse work team
      • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, ad work at elevated heights. Walk, stand, safely lift 50 pounds, and wear various protective equipment, including donning an acid suit, during daily work schedule
      • Demonstrated ability to use common hand tools, mechanical skills.
