Job Description Job Description Are you seeking a part-time opportunity (25 hours /- per week) as a Service Technician? Do you want to work daily on Ocracoke Island, NC? If so, Blossman Gas & Appliance would like you to submit your application online for consideration toward a part-time GAS SERVICE TECHNICIAN position at our location in Powells Point, NC with regular coverage on Ocracoke Island. With more than 85 branch locations in 12 states, Blossman Gas is the largest independent propane company in America. Due to our company's culture, these positions experience little turnover for those who want to work locally and for an established company. Our Service Technicians regularly install propane tanks for residential and commercial customers, as well as install, service, and maintain gas comfort equipment such as water heaters, dryers, ranges/stoves, fireplaces, generators, and more. This is a great position for someone who has prior propane, appliance installation/repair, or mechanical experience and would enjoy working locally. Some consideration toward those with mechanical aptitude and desire to learn our business, progress to Service Technician/Senior Technician through completion of a designed career path. OJT and a blend of classroom and online training to support professional growth as a Technician are provided. The position requires customer service skills, occasional on-call duty, and being a contributing member of a team environment. Possessing a valid CDL is helpful but we can help you obtain one if your driving record has not major violations and you commit to working for us for an agreed to timeframe. A strong commitment to safety, consistent with company policy, is a must. Competitive, hourly pay will depend on prior experience.
