Job Description:
Job Description Job Purpose We are seeking an experienced
Aerospace Stress Engineer with a robust background in the analysis,
certification, and testing of both composite and metallic primary
structures. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise,
strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex
engineering concepts effectively. Key Accountabilities - Experience
with stress analysis of composite primary structures (experience
with metallic structures is highly desirable). - Conduct detailed
stress analysis using both classical hand calculation methods
(e.g., Bruhn, Peery, Roark, ESDU) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
tools. - Prepare and author certification stress reports;
collaborate with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs).
- Support and interpret structural testing activities. - Clearly
communicate and justify analysis methods, assumptions, and results
to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Qualifications,
Experience, and Skills - Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or
mechanical engineering required. - FAA DER certification (14 CFR
Part 23/25) is a significant plus but not required. Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities: - Expertise in Finite Element Analysis tools
such as NASTRAN and FEMAP. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Experience with 3D solid modeling
using CATIA V5—ability to manipulate and extract data from models.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Visual
Basic (VB), or MATLAB is a strong plus. Working Conditions -
Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise
heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors. -
Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb
ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no
restrictions, as required by job duties. - Work in a safe and
professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements
(FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.). -
Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job
duties. - Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or
safety instructions with no restrictions. - Effectively communicate
in Business English language. - Pull, push, carry, lift, or move
items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance,
as required by job duties. - Pull, push, carry, lift or move
materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more
during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach
assistance technology”
