Associate Research Finance Director Posted Date 3 days ago (11/10/2021 2:09 PM) Requisition ID 2021-79904 Category Professional Position Type Regular Full-Time Department NWAC Northwest AR Campus Research Post End Date 11/25/2021 Overview Located in Northwest Arkansas This position will manage all financials related to grants, contracts, and awards for the Office of Community Health and Research at UAMS Northwest in accordance with UAMS policies and procedures. This will include preparing and managing budgets; financial status reports; developing and overseeing processes for monitoring purchases; establishing and managing contractual arrangements with various partners; approve travel and reimbursements; payroll; and all budget related items for extramurally funded projects. In addition, this position is responsible for the management of two budget analysts and an administrative coordinator. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and Division Director as well as other grant investigators to establish policies/processes for managing multiple awards, grants, and contracts to ensure proper financial management and grant compliance.                   • Concierge prescription delivery on the main campus when using UAMS pharmacy Salary offered commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Financial Management Functions: 70%
                    • Oversees and monitors -$14 million annually in grants, contracts, and awards for the Office of Community Health and Research to ensure proper grants management and financial responsibility for multiple extramural and intermural funded projects.
                    • Works with the Executive Director and budget team to establish a system of financial control and reporting to ensure proper financial management of multiple grants, contracts, and awards.
                    • Prepare and manage multiple budgets for funded researchers at UAMS NW Office of Community Health and Research.
                    • Develop and implement a systematic approach to reporting the financial performance of budget monitoring and cost control purposes.
                    • Utilize the SAP financial system for verifying the accuracy and reporting of financial information related to the campus.
                    • Work with team to implement and adhere to procedures for processing travel payments, purchasing of supplies and materials, executing contractual agreements, and processing other items related to the finances of the department.
                    • Provides oversight of financial related functions, including Grants Management (understand and ensure compliance with particular funding agency rules and regulations for management of financials .
                      • Includes NIH, PCORI , CDC, USDA, and others), Purchasing (promote and maintain good business relationships with vendors, ensure internal service quality, improve process efficiency), Contracts Administration (establish relationship with Contracts Administration Office, make decisions regarding new or existing revenue contracts related to grant needs, and Budget Planning (provide direction to two budget analysts, prepare timely and accurate financial reports, facilitate annual budget process). Leadership: 30%
                        • Collaborates with Division Director, Executive Director and other leadership team of Office of Community Health and Research regarding financial policies, procedures, and grants management compliance.
                        • Ensure that all resources are utilized in a cost-effective manner and in-line with funder guidelines and expectations. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
                          • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Health Administration, or related field plus six (6) years of experience in financial management, administration and/or experience in grants and contracts management. Additional Requirements/Competencies:
                            • Requires analytical, organizational and communications skills. Preferred Qualifications:
                              • Master's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or Health Services Administration, or similar.
                              • Three (3) years of experience in financial management and administration.
                              • Experience with grants management or accounting.
                              • Grants Management Certification. This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background check.
