We are seeking an Associate Program Manager with a Bachelor's degree in a related field of study. In this challenging, fast-paced environment, you'll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience to support the design and creation of the most groundbreaking aerospace and defense technologies - those that exist today and those that will shape tomorrow.What to look forward to: As an Associate Program Manager, you will be using your skills and expertise to direct all phases of our programs from inception through completion. You'll be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of our programs and establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test. You'll coordinate the preparation of our proposals, business plans, budgets, and financial terms and conditions of contracts, act as the primary contact for program activities, and lead program review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber. Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study - mathematics or economics is preferred
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
    • Related experience includes:
      • Managing budgets and/or financials for multiple projects/programs
      • Managing schedules and/or timelines for multiple projects/programs
      • Managing milestone and technical requirements for programs
      • Employing proactive risk and opportunity management for multiple projects/programs
      • Working with teams of diverse skills including: technical, programmatic, and financial to achieve a common goal
      • Creating and distributing various forms of documentation, including: meeting minutes, action items, status presentations, and agendas
      • Reviewing and analyzing cost and schedule reports/metrics for multiple projects/programs
      • Providing administrative support to the execution team, including managing meeting invitations, meeting minutes, ordering materials, managing subcontractors, and organizing status meetings
      • Preparing cost and schedule proposals in accordance with defined scope and requirements
      • Coordinating personnel and stakeholders to ensure program success
      • Must be able to work out of Sierra Nevada Corporation's Southern Pines, North Carolina Office
      • Flexible work hours required
      • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. Preferred:
        • Preferred previous experience includes:
          • Working with the Department of Defense (DoD)
          • Working with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
          • Managing projects/programs using the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
          • PMP or Equivalent Certification Important Notice:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
