This position reports to the Associate Director of Alumni Programs. With team support, this position assists in cultivating and broadening alumni interest in and financial support of the university, and in developing, strengthening, and implementing external alumni programs in support of the mission of the alumni association.Frequent night and weekend travel required.Teamwork, flexibility, and a "can do" attitude are essential for working with volunteers and other Association staff members.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • A minimum of two years of full-time (or equivalent) experience in program or event management within higher education or nonprofit setting
  • At least two years of volunteer management
  • Willingness to travel on behalf of the university on nights and weekendsPreferred Qualifications:
    • Experience coordinating and/or supporting non-profit boards and committees
    • At least two years of experience in working with volunteers
    • Experience with the University of Arkansas or similar institution of higher educationKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
      • Knowledge of event logistics including contracts, catering practices, event registration, fundraisers, sponsorship, and financial reconciliation
      • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suites
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to develop and manage budgets
      • Ability to plan and carry out high-level event plans including marketing strategy, financial reconciliation, and follow-up customer satisfaction measurements
      • The ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the University, alumni, other constituents, and the public
      • Ability to prioritize, implement, and manage multiple projects and due dates
