Primary Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Executive Director of Admissions will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and management of a comprehensive undergraduate recruitment and graduate admissions program. The Executive Director will develop proactive and nimble strategies to adjust to changing environments and trends in recruitment and admission of freshmen and transfer students. Working in a team-oriented, customer service- focused environment, s/he will leverage best practices and current technological solutions to manage inquiry and applicant pools; utilize appropriate social media tools to engage prospective, applicant, and admitted students; manage departmental communications, operations, and yield; and provide daily leadership and supervision of staff within the Office of Admissions. The Executive Director will develop an aggressive recruitment program designed to attract and retain a diverse pool of freshmen and transfer students from traditional and non-traditional markets, supervising all admissions procedures, and carrying out the academic policies of the institution. The Executive Director will provide day to day leadership to a team of 15 (+-) admissions professionals and create a climate that is student focused and customer service centered. Description of Work Continued: Duties and Responsibilities:

--- Responsible for implementing strategies for all on and off campus prospective student recruitment activities for targeted groups including traditional, Military, Adult Learners, Transfer, Graduate and International students --- Establish direction for recruitment efforts and strategies that will enable the University to meet and/or exceed enrollment goals --- Provide oversight and support for the management, planning, and execution of all campus recruitment events, as well as recruitment-related travel
--- Develop and conduct compelling presentations about the University to prospective students and parents during information sessions, and other admission related events. --- Responsible for developing and implementing an annual recruitment plan and for advising the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management on long-term strategies and admissions policies --- Manage all personnel and budgetary matters within the admissions office --- Provide leadership and vision for the integration of technology to include social media for recruitment and admission's processing --- Maintain current and develop new relationships with the surrounding communities and counties, high school and community college personnel, on-campus constituencies such as deans, chairs and faculty, professional colleagues, alumni and friends of the university --- Work with College leaders, deans, professors, students and alumni to ensure that recruitment and admission efforts are consistent with other institutional goals and objectives --- Collaborate with deans, graduate coordinators and faculty to provide data and assist in reaching new student graduate enrollment goals --- Ensure undergraduate and graduate recruitment messaging is consistent with institutional identity and enrollment goals --- Design and implement effective communication plans for selected cohorts --- Stay current on new innovations and best practices in college admissions and identify effective ways to use emerging technologies to communicate with prospective students and their families Minimum Education And Experience Requirements: Master's degree. Five to seven years of experience working in admissions or a higher education environment. Must have the ability to render decisions based on the interpretation of program policy and procedures preferably at the collegiate level in student services. Strong communication skills, both written and oral are required. The position requires a valid driver's license.

This position must have accurate general knowledge about higher education practices and detailed knowledge about university requirements, program, and services. The position must also have exceptional oral and written skills as required to present programs to large and small public audiences and to interact on an individual basis with many difference audiences. The position must have the ability to interpret program policies and procedures to various audiences. Attention to detail, strong organization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask are essential for success in this position. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: This position must have accurate general knowledge about higher education practices and detailed knowledge about university requirements, program, and services. The position must also have exceptional oral and written skills as required to present programs to large and small public audiences and to interact on an individual basis with many difference audiences. The position must have the ability to interpret program policies and procedures to various audiences. Attention to detail, strong organization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and multitask are essential for success in this position.

Must have the ability to render decisions based on the interpretation of program policy and procedures preferably at the collegiate level in student services. Strong communication skills, both written and oral are required. The candidate for this position should have previous higher education administrative experience. Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills; the ability to engage with university constituents and stakeholders. An outgoing personality; the ability to work independently, and as part of a team; a flexible attitude; and a willingness to work frequent evenings and weekends when needed. Advanced knowledge of computer programs and software a must. Must be self-sufficient in decision-making skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle many tasks at once mandatory. Creative marketing skills to include social media. Demonstrated success in leading and motivating others. Accountability to meeting projected revenue. This is a comprehensive position and requires a strong work ethic to be successful. Good driving record essential.
