The Director promotes institutional effectiveness and change by supporting high levels of understanding, analyzing, and using data for strategic decision-making throughout the organization. The Director will identify opportunities for improving data reporting and analysis provided to Division of Student Affairs constituents. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, and working with the Student Affairs leadership team, the Director will support information requests, align data services, and transparently share pertinent data sources.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Minimum three year's experience in higher education or other relevant field
  • Experience working with complex databases
  • Experience with a statistical package such as SPSS or SAS as well as familiarity with statistical tests such as multiple regression, logistic regression, and ANOVA
  • Experience creating compelling data visualizations that tell a story and facilitate deeper discussion
  • Capacity to create easily repeatable queries, visualizations, and other processesPreferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
    • Academic specialization or coursework in areas such as quantitative research methods and data analysis
    • Experience working with computerized student information systems, and other campus databases
    • Student Affairs backgroundKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
      • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications
      • Ability to manage data through Excel, SAS Enterprise Guide, Power BI, R, and/or other programs
      • Ability to work independently, initiate projects, clearly communicate the results of statistical analysis, and seek outside data is essential
      • An ability to effectively analyze and find relationships in large data sets for the purpose of developing and implementing new strategies and procedures, and an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
      • Excellent writing and speaking skills; report writing and presentation skills for varied audiences
      • Knowledge of student and staff development within the context of Student Affairs work.
      • Possess the ability to interpret and communicate statistical processes and findings to a diverse audience with varying levels of data acumen
      • Strong mathematical and technical ability.
      • Strong analytical skills.
      • Working knowledge of relational databases.
