Job Description:

We are searching for an experienced and talented manager to lead operations in our Fayetteville division. You'll be responsible for guiding and supporting teams directly under your supervision by organizing resources, inspiring employees, and maximizing output. Our manager must be a masterful communicator, organizer, and charismatic team player. You will assume responsibility for the daily operations of the staff and vehicles assigned to your division and will perform a variety of administrative, technical, and operational tasks.

    Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Previous managerial experience
    • EMT or Paramedic certification preferred
    • Excellent people skills, and creative problem-solving skills
    • Possess a valid State Driver's License.
    • Driving record in compliance with MedEx Safety and Driving policy.
    • Must be physically able to meet the demands of the position.
    • Must be able to pass a drug test.Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Shall communicate effectively and work under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operations Officer (COO), and/or other designated representative.
      • Assists with State Inspections, attends EMS County & Hospitals meetings.
      • Assists the Privacy Officer, if a Health Insurance Portability Accountability (HIPAA) concern should arise.
      • Enforces company policies and procedures.
      • Provides direction to team members, including constructive criticism and positive feedback to support personal development and ongoing improvement
      • Supports the development of new hires through coaching and training
      • Collaborates with other managers to solve problems across departments
      • Promotes a healthy and productive work environment
      • Makes recommendations to the Owner, CEO, COO and/or representative, on improving our EMS service, short and long-term.
      • Oversees total EMT Department and has the accountability and responsibility for the EMS operation, the EMT staff, and functions within the scope of care as defined by state, regional, and local regulatory agencies.
      • Will enforce "NO SMOKING" policy on-premises, while operating company vehicles, in the presence of clients/families, or while wearing company attire.
      • Will maintain an open-door policy with employees for work-related guidance/leadership.
      • Will promptly address EMT's concerns to avoid issues and promptly communicate all concerns/issues to the CEO, COO, Owner and/or representative.
      • Will ensure "Chain of Command" is followed by all employees when complaints and/or problems must be communicated.
      • Assess new clients to determine eligibility for transport & reassess repeat and/or repetitive clients to determine eligibility for transport.
      • Will ensure EMTs obtain the necessary paperwork required to bill for each transport.
      • Plans, directs, and exercises general supervision of departmental operations, including, but not limited to:
      • Conducts interviews and completes the hiring process for new EMTs, Paramedics, and Drivers, after considering all applications, and receiving approval from CEO, COO, Owner, and/or Representative, to hire applicant. (Full-time or part-time status, salary, benefits, etc., will be the decision of the CEO, COO, Owner, and/or Representative only)
      • Conducts the exit interview and termination process for EMTs, after receiving approval from CEO, COO, Owner and/or Representative, to terminate the employee.
      • Responsible for the orientation and in-service training of all new EMS employees.
      • Ensures all EMTs are appropriately dressed, in company specific uniform (shirt, pants, socks, shoes, belt) at all times while on the clock.
      • Performs initial, and annual, employee performance evaluations.
      • Develops instructional outlines, which include task analysis, performance objectives, instructional materials, and instructional methods.
      • Assesses training levels of all department EMS personnel.
      • Attends continuing education and refresher training programs as required by employers, medical control, licensing or certifying agencies.
      • Coordinates the employee's work schedule each month, following guidelines set by CEO, COO, Owner, and/or Representative.
      • Prepares daily/weekly chore list for on-duty staff, and holds staff accountable for the designated chores.
      • Ensures all paperwork is signed, completed, and turned into QA daily. If the transport report cannot be completed within 24 hours of the transport, the employee must contact their immediate supervisor, and permission must be obtained to leave paperwork for completion at another time.
      • Maintenance of MedEx vehicles to include:
      • Determines that the vehicle is in proper mechanical condition by checking items required by service management. Maintains familiarity with specialized equipment used.
      • Help coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance needs for each vehicle, and troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns as they occur.
      • Contact the Maintenance Supervisor for all corrected and uncorrected vehicle maintenance issues.
      • Understand unsupervised verbal and written communication and be able to communicate verbally, and in writing, concisely and clearly in such a manner as to be understood by others.
      • Effectively and appropriately communicate.
      • Understands basic medical-legal principles.
      • Process information, reason, and make logical decisions.
      • Use a computer for basic functions such as data entry, accessing, and sending email.
