Job Description
OES Equipment, a part of the DPR family of companies, is a
fast-paced supplies and equipment rental company in the
construction industry. We are seeking a Technology Project Manager.
This role is responsible to deliver successful technology projects
on time and on budget. Technology Project Managers apply proven
communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to help the
business implement new technologies. Technology Project Managers
are proactive about working with all parts of the business to
optimize processes and technologies to achieve long-term goals. A
successful Technology Project Manager will be reliable and driven
to help others succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and work with stakeholders, end-users, Subject
Matter Experts, and Business Analysts to clarify high-level project
requirements/ guiding principles (ex: Key results, project scope,
goals and deliverables).
- Document clear goals for the project, including the value
proposition (what happens if we succeed), risk proposition (what
happens if we take no action, or if we fail), and desired results
(what does great look like).
- Identify project risks early on and coordinate a risk
management plan to address each risk. Document risks, options for
mitigation, and mitigation strategy in project-specific RAID
log.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan at the
appropriate level of detail for the project. Break down the scope
into activities and tasks by project phase. Monitor and validate
the project plan throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assign tasks and action items to project team and other
resources as needed. Track action items to target completion dates
and hold team members and vendors accountable to commitments with
the appropriate urgency for the task.
- Break down issues and roadblocks and bring them to
resolution.
- Monitor the progress of the project and update the project
management system regularly.
- Predict and request project-specific resource needs and manage
resources throughout the project. Work with leadership to allocate
the appropriate resources to the project, including collaborating
with internal, cross-functional resources and sourcing external
help when needed.
- Schedule and conduct productive project meetings in-person and
virtual. Prepare an agenda for each meeting and send pre-reads as
needed. Ensure that meeting minutes are recorded and made available
for future reference. Update RAID log and Project Plan as needed
after each meeting.
- Manage conflict between project team members and guide the team
toward resolution with a focus on what is best for project
success.
- Provide intentional and timely feedback to project team
members. Support and recognize team member growth and
development.
- When needed, partner with external consultants and/or vendors
to create vendor-specific statements of work, define vendor scope,
and prepare contract documents. Make recommendations about vendor
selection, scope, and contracts to the project steering committee
for their approval.
- Anticipate and embrace the need for changes throughout the
project. Catalog changes and compare to original scope for the
project steering committee, including analyzing the impact of each
change. Provide options and recommendations for steering committee
approval. Document final decisions in the RAID log. Communicate
project changes per the project communication plan.
- Embrace continuous improvement throughout the project
lifecycle. As part of project close-out facilitate meeting(s) to
gather and analyze lessons learned. Share project lessons learned
with other project managers and vendors for their benefit on future
projects.
- At the conclusion of each project coordinate the knowledge
transfer of the project from the project team to the business.
Provide the business with the necessary documentation and training
to support the end results long term.
- At the conclusion of each project coordinate the handoff of
project-provided hypercare to internal support and maintenance
teams. Anticipate long term support and maintenance resource needs.
Provide support and maintenance teams with the necessary
documentation and training to support the business long term.
- Create and present the following documents as needed for a
given scope or project:
- Project and Scope Overview
- Project Plan
- Project Schedule
- Communications Plan
- RACI Matrix
- RAID Log
- Simple data reports and analysis
- Lessons Learned/Project Retrospective
- Attend internal team meetings in person annually. Attend vendor
conferences and join vendor training webinars remotely as
interested and approved by team lead.
- Attend ad hoc project meetings in person as needed. Education &
Experience:
- 5 to 7+ years related work experience.
- College diploma or university degree in the field of business
administration, information systems, supply chain management,
construction management, or related field.
- A background in business finance, commercial construction, or
supply chain management is desired.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment. Skills & Abilities:
- Proven experience with delivering successful technology
projects, including enterprise technology implementations at
scale.
- Understanding of project management techniques and
methodologies, including agile project management.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under
pressure.
- Detail oriented with the ability to learn quickly and
efficiently.
- A strong desire to learn and share information with others to
make their job easier.
- Ability to present complex information in simple,
understandable ways.
- Creativity skills to help develop new solutions to old
problems.
- Ability to prioritize work by making informed judgments and
collaborating with team and leadership.
- Able to exercise independent judgment and act on it.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral
communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Office 365 experience, including Excel, Word, and Visio.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer screen.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
