Job Description:

Job Purpose:Supports patient's well-being by providing mental health assessments and treatments; providing resources; educating families; maintaining patient records.

Duties: * Assesses patient mental status and problems by interviewing patients; obtaining personal information and medical history; consulting with other professionals; conducting and evaluating psychological tests.

* Educates family members by advising on the most appropriate and helpful roles they can fulfill in the treatment process, treating relationship issues. * Maintains patient records by following protocols; entering and updating data; maintaining case history and progress notes.


* Protects mental health center's value by keeping patient information confidential, adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.

* Enhances mental health center reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
