Job Title: Health and Safety LeaderDepartment: EH&SReports to: Director of EH&SSummary:The Health and Safety Leader is responsible for setting the direction and operating standards for health and safety compliance. They will also improve the safety standards, manage security for the site, and coordinate 5S activities.Responsibilities:Ensure employee compliance to the company's safety systems through the auditing program.Investigate and report EH&S incidents.Lead site EH&S training.Monitor, maintain, and develop company safety programs.Maintain and develop the internal EH&S auditing program.Be the main contact for the fire department and own the fire protection plan.Coordinate employee safety and JHSC meetings.Manage building security.Be the 5S Champion and lead 5S activities.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:4-year degree in Industrial Health & Safety or equivalent experience in the position.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA.OSHA 30 Certification required; OSHA 501 Certification preferred.Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Minimum 5 years of experience with safety standards in a manufacturing environment.Strong training and communication skills.Experience conducting safety audits and inspections, and developing and implementing corrective action plans.Experience investigating incidents and accidents, and developing and implementing preventive measures.
