Job Description eHospitalHire is seeking a local contract nurse RN Float for a local contract nursing job in Greenville, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Float - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 52 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, evenings, nights, rotating - Employment Type: Local Contract Description The Enterprise Float Pool comprises ED and/or inpatient qualified nurses across the continuum of care, including emergency room, behavioral health, general rehabilitation and medicine, stepdown units, and critical care units. Members of the float pool team rotate through different hospital facilities based on the region to which they are assigned or hired. Staffing/Scheduling Self-scheduling is permitted via the Enterprise Float Pool using scheduling software. All full-time employees are required to work six shifts that fall on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) within a six-week schedule, two major holidays, and two minor holidays; part-time employees have half these requirements. Before every shift, the Resource Management Center consults with housing supervisors for the hospitals regarding the upcoming shift. Team members are allocated to individual hospitals based on safe staffing needs and to ensure units operate within their staffing guidelines. Certain team members may be preassigned to units/hospitals for a six-week schedule based on identified requirements within facilities. RN Staffing Ratios General Medicine: 1:5-1:6 (stretch ratio) Stepdown Units: 1:3, 1:4, 1:5 (stretch ratios) ICU: Medical Center 1:2; Community 1:2 or 1:3 Regions Campuses are located in Greenville, NC, Washington, NC, Tarboro, NC, and Kenansville, NC Requirements All nurses are required to have a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, including at least one year in the highest level of care for which they were hired. All Enterprise Float Pool Team members must possess an unencumbered RN License or be licensed to work within North Carolina, with ACLS and BLS certifications upon their hire date. Additionally, new hires will have 90 days to complete PALS certification through American Heart RQI, NIHSS certification, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention CPI. Pay Process The base pay rate for RNs is determined by their years of experience in the nursing field starting at $32/hr with a 20% premium pay tacked on hourly rate with 5% additional if float between more than one region. Enterprise Float Pool team members are categorized into Tiers based on the levels of care they can provide within assigned hospitals by region. All education time and Paid Time Off (PTO) will be compensated at the base rate. Orientation Process The length of orientation will be determined by the Tier level into which the nurse was hired. Typically, orientation lasts from a minimum of 4 weeks to up to 12 weeks.
