Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and successful completion of an EKG exam. Responsibilities - Work in a Pediatric ICU unit within a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital - Pediatric critical care patient population with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3 - Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00, with every other weekend required - Epic charting system used; prior Epic experience required - Floating within scope to like units or sister campuses may be required - Block scheduling is open to discussion - Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients - Work in a team-oriented environment with support from experienced clinicians - Pre-employment modules (4-10 hours) must be completed prior to start - Royal blue and white scrubs required - Staff must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler; limitation of 2 contracts before a 6-month break is required - Holiday coverage is limited to approval of 1 holiday off during assignment - RTO restrictions apply and are at manager's discretion - First-time travelers are considered based on manager approval and years of experience - No license or background hits within the last year will be approved Requirements - Active NC or compact RN license required and must be in hand before consideration - Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Must pass an advanced EKG exam without exception - Epic experience required for all RN specialties - Local candidates not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus - Pending licenses not accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624063.
