An established health system on South Carolinas beautiful coast is seeking a Full-Time Inpatient Pediatrician to join its Womens and Childrens Services team. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to newborns and pediatric patients while maintaining a balanced schedule and access to modern facilities. Its an outstanding opportunity for a pediatrician seeking a stable hospital-based position in a growing, family-friendly community near Myrtle Beach. Position Overview Schedule: 8-hour in-house shifts (8:30 AM"4:30 PM) Call Coverage: 24/7 model with 16 hours of on-call responsibilities Census: Average 8"15 newborns and 0"2 pediatric inpatients per day Call Duties: Respond to nurse or ED consults, attend high-risk deliveries, stabilize sick newborns (no parent-initiated calls) Call Rooms: Dedicated onsite call rooms available though not required to stay overnight EMR: Cerner Support & Collaboration APRN support (Wednesday"Friday mornings) for peak census periods 24/7 CRNA coverage for epidurals and emergent C-sections Nursery, labor & delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics all located on the same floor for streamlined workflow One full-time pediatric hospitalist, plus part-time coverage for weekends, holidays, and PTO Scope of Practice Patient Mix: Approximately 90% newborn care and 10% straightforward pediatric admissions Procedures: Circumcisions, frenotomies, emergency CPAP management, simple polydactyly excision, and rare emergent interventions (e.g., intubation, needle decompression, UVC placement) Facility Level: Level II nursery"attending deliveries from 32 weeks gestation and up Transfers: Level III NICU transfers to McLeod (?2 hours by ground) Level IV NICU transfers to MUSC (?45 minutes by air) System averages 1,600 deliveries per year , projected to grow to 1,800"2,000 with continued Womens Health expansion Candidate Requirements Completion of an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency (3 years minimum) Board certification/board eligibility in Pediatrics Strong clinical skills in newborn and low-acuity pediatric inpatient care Compensation & Benefits Sign-On Bonus: $25,000 to assist with relocation or transition Competitive Compensation: Shift-based structure with productivity opportunities Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; supplemental coverage options Retirement: Employer-matched 401(k) plan Loan Repayment: Eligible through the PSLF program CME: $3,000 allowance and 5 CME days annually PTO: 24 days per year for excellent work-life balance Malpractice: Provided with tail coverage Location " Myrtle Beach & Conway, South Carolina Located minutes from the world-famous beaches of Myrtle Beach , the community of Conway offers a unique combination of small-town comfort and coastal charm.
