Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications, as well as Epic EMR experience. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital - Night shifts, four 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:00), with every other weekend required - Patient ratios are 1:4-5 in the PCU - Care for a step-down/telemetry patient population - Use of Epic charting system is required - Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister campuses as needed - Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit - First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment - Must adhere to Royal blue and white scrub dress code - Maximum of 4 days of requested time off, with approval for only 1 holiday off permitted - Return staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to be eligible as a traveler - Travelers may only extend their assignment twice on night shift, after which a 6-month break is required before returning - Pre-start online modules (4-10 hours) must be completed - Vaccination exemption requests must be submitted early to avoid onboarding delays Requirements - Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted - Minimum of 2 years recent PCU or step-down experience required - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS - Must pass EKG exam with no exceptions - Epic EMR experience is required - Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this assignment - Background or license issues within the last year will not be approved Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-663584.
