Job Description:
Lead nightly stocking crew in storing and stocking equipment,
material, and merchandise in store or overstock area. Night lead
will also oversee the night cleaning of the store is
completed.Duties & Responsibilities
Receive, unload, open, unpack, or
distribute sales floor merchandise.Take inventory or examine
merchandise to identify items to be reordered or
replenished.Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete
stock to store management.Oversee daily instruction and
responsibility for small night stocking crew.Work with store
management as a liaison between night crew and daily staff/
management. Provide feedback on staffing needs, current staff
abilities or issues, and pass along any and all concerns to store
management promptly. Arranges new stock in a clean, neat and
orderly manner that is attractive to the customer.Examine shipment
contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or
orders, to verify accuracy.Rotates older stock to the front of the
shelf.Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according
to identifying information such as style, size, or type of
material.Mark stock items, using identification tags, stamps,
electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.Determines
method of storage, identification, and stock location, taking into
consideration temperature, humidity, height and weight limits,
turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.Moves or
transports material or supplies to other departments.Assign nightly
cleaning duties to staff including, sweeping the floors, cleaning
display cases, shelves, and aisles and other necessary tasks to
make sure the store is neat, clean, and ready to open in the
morning.Any and all other duties assigned by management.Supervisory
RequirementsDirectly supervises 2-6 night employees. - Carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Train employees; plan, assign, and
direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems. Keep store management
in the know about employee relations and inner workings of the
night shift. Qualifications & Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED strongly
preferred2+ year of previous stocking or inventory experience
preferred2+ years of experience managing othersStrong attention to
detail and the ability to problem solve quickly would be an asset
for this positionAbility to communicate information and ideas in
speaking so others will understandDeveloping constructive and
cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them
over timeAdditional Notes
This position is a key holder and
will be responsible for locking up the store -at night and may be
asked to return to the store after hours for alarms.This is a lead
position but you are still responsible to work directly with the
store manager on all employee relations issues, up to and including
