Full-time Description Experience a summer “Where Adventure
Grows!” Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic
and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2026 Summer Camp
Team supporting our overnight camp programs across all Council
properties: Camp Mary Atkinson, Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp
Mu-Sha-Ni. At Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines, we

girls, we want you on our team. We are seeking Camp Unit Leaders to
support our overnight camp program at Camp Mary Atkinson. This
position may also support smaller program groups operating at Camp
Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni throughout the summer.
Transportation will be provided from Camp Mary Atkinson to the
other camp properties as needed. The Camp Unit Leader position
includes overnight in-cabin supervision of minor female campers as
an essential function of the role. Staff in this position must be
able and willing to provide overnight supervision in camper cabins
in accordance with Girl Scouts safety standards, privacy
expectations, and program requirements. Housing assignments are
based on role responsibilities and camper safety needs. Girl Scouts
– North Carolina Coastal Pines is committed to creating a

Position: Camp Unit Leader Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC
(with travel to other Council camps as needed) Duration: Summer
2026 (mid-May through the end of July) Compensation: Weekly salary
of $511.00, including housing and meals after training. We’re
excited to offer summer camp staff the opportunity to earn up to a
$500 bonus this summer! Here’s how it works: $250 Mid-Summer Bonus:
Camp staff hired for the summer who remain employed through the end
of June will receive a $250 bonus. $250 Completion Bonus: Camp
staff who remain employed through the end of summer camp will
receive a $250 bonus. A Day in the Life: Supervise Campers and
Staff : Be a guide, mentor, and friend for campers in your unit.

We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment
Visas at this time. Because this role includes overnight
supervision in shared sleeping quarters with minor female campers,
applicants must be female in order to support camper privacy and
safety in accordance with applicable employment law. Candidates 21
years of age or older are preferred. Must be able to obtain or
become certified in First Aid/CPR. Training will be provided.
Ability to interact with all age levels. Prior camp experience or
working with youth preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of youth development and the ability to relate
positively to youth and adults. Program coordination skills and
commitment to the Girl Scout mission. Willingness to live and work
in a camp setting, including working nontraditional hours. Physical
Aspects of the Job: Ability to communicate and work with groups
participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary
instruction to campers and staff. Ability to observe camper
behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety
regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate
behavior-management techniques. Visual and auditory ability to
identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to
the activity. Physical ability to respond appropriately to
situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in
an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the
strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of
campers. Endurance including prolonged standing, some bending,
stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching.
Willing to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with
limited or simple equipment and facilities with daily exposure to
the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.
