Methodist Home for Children, headquartered in Raleigh, is
a 501 (c)(3) that works to ensure safe, nurturing homes for
children while working to eradicate the social and family problems
that lead to abuse, neglect, family disruption and abandonment. We
provide community-based services for children and families
throughout North Carolina. We partner with public agencies to serve
children in crisis and we raise private funds to ensure that we can
deliver the best in evidence-based services.
MHC is seeking Resident Counselors for
its multipurpose home in Lumberton, NC. This is a Residential
position so the person selected must be able to live-in the home
for 3 days at a time (3 on, 2 off, off every other
FIRST THINGS FIRST... WHAT IS A MULTIPURPOSE
Multipurpose homes are residential facilities for youth.
Residency in our multipurpose homes has been proven to interrupt
lifetime criminal behavior for Level II repeat juvenile offenders.
MHC staff live and work in each home, serving 10 judicial
districts, and implement a model of care that teaches teens to
change problem behaviors and attitudes, expand their skills and
recover from setbacks and mistakes.
WHAT DO RESIDENT COUNSELORS
The primary responsibility of the Resident
Counselor is to provide program services to intervene with
adolescents being served in a residential group home. The
position's job responsibilities include implementing direct
treatment services through use of the agency's model of care,
providing residential care services, and working with adolescents,
families, volunteers, and community representatives in the youth
home and community settings.
ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age;
- Minimum of a High School Diploma and experience working
with client population.
- Must maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable
