Department: OperationsSupervisor: Director of OperationsClassification: Non-Exempt/Part-Time/SeasonalAs a member of the Guest Services Team, you will be an essential part of the game experience and help build Fayetteville Woodpecker memories that last a lifetime. In this role, you will wear many different hats and have the potential to work in several different areas of the ballpark. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, ushering, ticket scanning, concourse customer service, and attending to stairs, ramps, escalators, and elevators. As a frontline representative of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, you will have the opportunity to assist our guests by offering directions and sharing information. Your job will be to keep our fans safe while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere! The Fayetteville Woodpeckers strive to deliver enjoyable guest experiences combined with the best entertainment value available.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe proactive and personable in greeting and assisting our guests with various inquiries as this position requires extensive contact with our guestsPrepare guest services booth for game time and operate the booth for the entire game, including cleaning the area, putting out signage and collateral and restocking the deskAssist in vendor relations and set up of game day concourse layout as neededSupport the promotions staff by registering contestants and distributing prizes to winnersManage check-in for pre-game activities (first pitches, National Anthem, etc.)Generate positive public relations by resolving guest issues, and logging concerns and complaints as neededCommunicate directly via team-supplied, two-way radio with appropriate Woodpeckers staff managersCreate, foster and maintain Segra Stadiums reputation for excellent customer serviceImplement ballpark rules, regulations, policies and proceduresAnticipate game-related issues and appropriate solutionsMaintain a working knowledge of ballpark layout, activities and general informationAnswer a variety of questions regarding Segra Stadium such as locations of restrooms, First Aid, seating sections, concession items, etc. in a polite and respectful mannerRepresent the Woodpeckers professionally at all timesProvide general administrative support to ballpark staffThis description is intended to describe the type of work being performed by a person assigned to this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Employees must communicate well and be friendly, knowledgeable, well-groomed, assertive and able to intervene in conflict situationsMust have the ability to provide excellent customer service to all fans and guests in a professional, respectful, and friendly mannerMust be available to attend training sessions, stadium tours and other events as necessary throughout the yearPrior customer service experience (entry level or supervisory) preferred, but not requiredRequires attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing and high-pressure situationsMust become familiar with the stadiums policies, procedures and how to navigate the buildingMust have the ability to anticipate needs, assess situations and act accordinglyRequired to work autonomously as well as in a team setting in a respectful and courteous mannerMust be available to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends during baseball seasonMust be available to arrive up to two (2) hours prior to game timeMust be able to work in all weather conditionsMust be at least 16 years of ageEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be available to arrive up to two (2) hours prior to game time.
