Summary of Job Duties:

The Jim & Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas is accepting applications for an Operations Manager.

The Faulkner Center Operations Manager will interact and help train student staff and volunteers on the procedures for front of house operations for performing arts events based on University and industry standards. This includes training all front of house hourly personnel and volunteers on safety protocol and event management. This position will oversee the scheduling of security, custodial, box office, and hourly workers. This position also will oversee the operations, set-up/strike, scheduling of receptions, art exhibits, and any other lobby-based events occurring at the venue including advancing the event and communicating the needs to the Faulkner Center Technical Director and Managing Director.

The Operations Manager will also oversee two graduate assistants for the operations of the box office. This position will ensure all box office reports, financial protocols, and equipment is up to date and adequate for the service of the facility. The Operations Manager will ensure the training of box office staff on ticketing systems, phone etiquette, and customer service are met to standards.

This position reports directly to the Managing Director of the Faulkner Performing Arts Center.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others and provide a high level of excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, public administration, management or a related field

  • At least two years of experience in program administration or a related area

Applicable equivalencies will be listed on the qualifications listed above.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience organizing hourly and volunteer staff

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about all aspects associated with the image of the Center, including Resident Companies, patrons, and institutions

  • Proven and demonstrated record of accomplishment in a related management field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for this position:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with standard practices in the performing arts and event production

  • Demonstrated ability and experience with sales and customer service

Salary Information:

$ 30,713 - Exceptionally well qualified applicants may be considered for salary higher than entry, dependent upon education and qualifications
