Job Description:

Overview of Position: Under administrative supervision of the Front Office Manager / Practice Administrator / Patient Financial Services Manager, the Customer Service Specialist (CSS) will be responsible for coordination of care between clients, Clinic nurse staff, medical providers and the infectious disease specialist. The CSS is primarily responsible for the registration of patients and the coordination of support and logistical functions necessary for the effective and efficient delivery of health care services in the clinic. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, to include making recommendations for strategies to improve quality of care. This is a 12-hour rotating Saturdays position. Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Previous medical office experience is strongly suggested. Must possess the ability to multitask in a fast paced office setting. Must possess a current drivers license and be able to be flexible with his/her work schedule. Knowledge/Skills: Maintain current general medical knowledge. Participation in training opportunities to enhance knowledge such as conferences and continuing education/in-service events. Understands company and program policies and procedures as well as be aware of HopeHealths mission, vision and values. Should have knowledge of basic software applications to include Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively utilizing both oral and written means. Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision. Knowledge of adult learning principles, management leadership principles, and community resources. Knowledge of policies, standards, regulations, and protocols. Knowledge of data bases i.e. Practice Management and EHR system. Essential Job Functions: Registration for Lab, X-Ray and Ultrasound using multiple software platforms Print physicians orders as needed Coordinate with clinical staff to obtain physicians orders and/or get corrected orders as needed Review radiology requisitions and prepare for billing Fax or Email radiology requisitions to both in-house and outside billing facilities Review Ultrasound schedule daily and complete call reminders Assure that all Ultrasound results are reported correctly and incorrect orders are voided Responds to guest in a professional and timely manner Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements: Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
