Eatons Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Die Setter to join our 2 nd Shift team. This position is based at our Fayetteville, NC facility.Position Overview:The Die Setter is responsible for Set up and operating a punch press machines using multiple progressive automatic dies and automatic feed equipment. This position will operate other steel fabrication equipment as assigned. They will also direct and assist co-workers in operation of presses and fabrication of parts on a repetitive and non-repetitive basis. This position may direct the press operation duties of other Fabricator/ Operators and/or Die-Setters.In this function you will:

  • Operate punch presses and other steel-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems.
  • Transport dies for installation and calibration using forklift.
  • Perform maintenance of equipment such as punches, dies, hydraulic clamping systems, material feeder systems, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary.
  • Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components.
  • Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor or Maintenance personnel of any problems.
  • Perform necessary 5S duties and tasks per daily/weekly assignments
  • Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas.
  • Provide assistance to lower - level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties.
  • Deliver material to and from work stations using material handling equipment, and position work material on coil cradle or feeder.
  • Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in operator of steel fabrication equipment, preferred stamping equipment
    • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manual machine operation or die setting
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
    • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrated proficiency with drawings and/or blueprints
      • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, micrometers, gauges, various jigs/fixtures.
      • Experience using computer software in a machine operating capacity e.g.- HMI or Controller
      • Experience with set up and tear down of dies on stamping presses
      • Minimum of 1 year Die setting experiencePosition Success Criteria:
        • Ability to read and follow a production schedule
        • Ability to obtain a forklift certification and operate a forklift
        • Ability to obtain and operate crane/hoist certification
        • Can perform work from reading manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or Travel Documents, oral instructions.
        • Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed
        • Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot independently, as well as work cohesively to set up die operations within a team.Why work at Eaton?
