Description:Mechanical Designer will be supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) on the large project for a new product in Phase II. The Mechanical Designer position is responsible for modeling and drawing generation of a wide range of mechanical hardware and components. The candidate should not only be adept at handling typical design tasks (modeling and detailing), but must be able to effectively communicate cross-functionally. The designer will be member of the Design Services Group operating out of Florence, South Carolina.Responsibilities:Provide design support to internal and external customersModify and develop new component solutions to increase product robustnessSupport and resolve engineering issuesDevelop component and system level models and drawingsSupport cost reduction effortsSkills:creo, creo parametric, creo parametric pro/engineer, mechanical design, drafting/design, bom, designAdditional Skills & Qualifications:+2 years of CREO design/drafting experience Associates or Bachelors Degree is preferred but not requiredKnowledge in manufacturing processes (sheetmetal fabrication, welding, castings and molds, and general machining operations) Ability to apply GD&T to parts and assemblies per design requirements About Actalent: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
