INTERNAL DAYS 3 DESCRIPTION
The Pipe Foreman will assist in the supervision of craft activities
to assure optimum productivity and construction compliance on the
Infrastructure Team. The Pipe Foreman will supervise the lay out,
assembly and installation of various sizes and types of drain pipe.
The Pipe Foreman will study project specifications to plan
sequencing and schedule for pipe installation the project. This
position is expected to maintain a safe working environment at all
time during work hours.
The following are a partial listing of the most important project
tasks.
Responsibilities:
Oversee projects from initial planning to completion.
Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install and back-fill
drainage pipe
Sequences pipe installation to reduce inference with other project
activities and the public.
Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or
safety concerns.
Chlorinate, flush, and pressure test various pipelines.
Monitoring of budgets and production
Material delivery coordination and recording
Coordination, allocation, and oversight of crew
Attend site meetings, as required.
Work closely with Contractors and Sub-Contractors
Responsibilities
Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2 - 7-person
crew.
Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage
pipe.
Sequences pipe installation to reduce inference with other project
activities and the public.
Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or
safety concerns.
Responsible for crew safety. Establishes safe work environment that
complies with the Company safety program.
Observes assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions.
Assures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within
budget.
Reviews and approves employee time reporting.
Maintains professional relationship with Owner.
The Pipe Foreman must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile
equipment safely.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 1- year experience in any type of construction.
Heavy Construction labor experience preferred.
Must be able to perform various semi-skilled labor tasks in an
outdoor environment for an 8 - 10-hour workday.
Must observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe
conditions to management.
Must be willing to work outside in all elements (hot, cold, mud,
rain, snow, etc.)
Must be able to life 50+ pounds.
Follow instructions provided by superintendents, foreman, and/or
other experienced crew members.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work well with others and maintain a positive teamwork
attitude.
Keep safety of themselves and others a priority.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Effectively communicate with crew
3+ years of experience as a Pipe Foreman
Read & interpret technical drawings.
Shoot grades and understand layout designs and implementation of
same
Ability to use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels,
and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe
installation.
