Full Job Description Department of the Army (Womack Army Medical
Center) POSITION SUMMARY: The Neuropsychologist assessment of brain
function is used in collaboration with other medical data to make
diagnoses (e.g., dementia, developmental delay) The
Neuropsychologist also specializes in using data analysis to make
recommendations regarding educational services/supports,
decision-making capacity, discharge environment, supervision needs,
patient/family education, and return to school/work performs
pre-surgical cognitive and psychosocial assessments in patients
awaiting epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation, cochlear implant
and other Neurologic interventions Practical experience in
administering a variety of psychological tests, including but not
limited to, the WAIS IV, WISC V, WJ-III, WMS IV, WCST, and any
acceptable method of neuropsychological assessment Schedule/ Period
of Performance Full-time: 40 hours per week (In addition: ON CALL
availability) Hours: 7:30am - 16:30pm (excluding federal holidays
Salary $175,000-$180,000 ( To be determined upon experience)

Vacation Time + MORE SPECIFIC DUTIES/TASKS SHALL BE PERFORMED BUT
NOT LIMITED TO: 1. Functions as a relatively autonomous
Neuropsychologist in administering and scoring neuropsychological
test batteries (including cognitive and personality test
instruments) for Behavioral health patients. 2. Performs
assessments using interview, formal psychological testing and
consultation as appropriate. 3. Selects established diagnostic
evaluation procedures. Gathers case history, complaints or other
problem-related information for use in the evaluation and diagnosis
of said patients. 4. Interprets validity and significance of data
collected, prepares written notes that integrate the behavioral
observations and test data; makes recommendations for further
action. 5. Maintains accurate and current notes in both the
Department of Medicine records and patient medical records of all
patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation
and/or treatment, as required. 6. Manages our clinic's
Psychometrists in their day-to-day testing functions. 7.
Administers routine or standardized neuropsychological tests. 8.
Uses standardized procedures to score various tests. Records data
in/on appropriate files or records. 9. Observes and records
patients' behavior during testing in appropriate records. Tabulates
test results. 10. Utilizes computer software and pre-designed
database to enter, retrieve, and update patient assessment data.
11. Writes neuropsychological reports to referring provider based
on the results of neuropsychological data while also considering
patient neuro-imaging findings, laboratory data, medical history,
psychiatric history and presenting complaints. 12. Monitors the
supply of neuropsychological testing materials and coordinates the
ordering of needed supplies with the supervising Neuropsychologist
and the responsible noncommissioned officer. 13. Provides basic
training in the administration and scoring of neuropsychological
test instruments, as well as interview techniques, to junior
military and civilian trainees 14. Consults with medical personnel,
legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as
required. Psychological evaluations required by military schools
and/or programs. 15. Consultation and program development regarding
patient compliance with accepted medical treatment. 16. Assists and
participates in special event informational seminars. 17. Conducts
command directed mental health evaluations performed IAW DOD
Directive 6490.4. 18. Provides psychological triage services in a
combined outpatient behavioral health clinic. 19. Conducts
neuro-psychological evaluations required as part of the Medical
Evaluation Board (MEB), TDRL (Temporary Disability Retirement List)
status review, Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), and clinical
consultation from various departments and services of Womack Army
Medical Center. The contract Clinical Psychologist performing
services under this contract shall have sufficient skills to
perform tasks that may include, but are not necessarily limited to
the following: Consult as appropriate (with primary care managers
and with other specialists) Provide medical advice over the
telephone Complete all required paperwork Obtain an adequate
history, physical, assessment and develop a treatment plan in a
timely and appropriate manner on each patient Professional
Qualifications The Licensed Clinical Psychologist shall possess and
maintain current license for Psychologist in at least one state or
territory in the United States. Shall be a graduate of both an APA
accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology and an APA
accredited internship in Clinical Psychology. Have post-doctoral
training in neuropsychology in the form of a clinical
neuropsychology residency or clinical neuropsychology fellowship of
one year or more. Candidate must be eligible to sit for the ABPP
board exam in Clinical Neuropsychology. Shall have minimum of two
years of successful clinical practice within the past five years.
Shall have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life
Support (BCLS). Certification must be by American Heart Association
and individual must demonstrate ability to initiate CPR in event of
respirator or cardiopulmonary arrest. Certifications must be
renewed every year at no additional cost to the Government. Shall
have transcript verifying clinical psychology education provided
Education: A doctoral degree, either Ph.D. or Psy.D., from an APA
or CPA approved program in clinical psychology The ideal candidate
would have at least two years of experience working as
Neuropsychologist or Neuropsychology Fellow in a US Army or DoD
setting, must be willing to complete Neuropsychological Assessment
in both outpatient and inpatient settings, have special knowledge
of neuropsychology testing procedures, neuropsychology laboratory
management and neuropsychological research design. Duties will
include teaching of Clinical Neuropsychology to staff and trainees.
Provides Neuropsychological evaluations to include evaluation,
assessment, report writing, consultation, and feedback. Benefits:
