Chemours is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Reliability Engineer to join our growing Reliability team! This position will report directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager at our Fayetteville, North Carolina location.

The E&I Reliability Engineer is the landlord of the site's electrical distribution system and is responsible for the safe, and reliable operation of the Plant's Electrical Infrastructure and overseeing the maintenance of the system. This position is also responsible for improving reliability of plant instrumentation by identifying and providing solutions for repeat issues.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Acts asliaison with energy provider, site customers andtenants for power system issues and coordination
  • Oversee installation of medium/high voltage equipment to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Oversight of maintenance work procedures associated with the mechanical integrity of this equipment, providing assurance they are created and maintained in a way that accurately describes the work, identifies hazards and their management
  • Oversight of SAP structure, i.e., functional locations, equipment pieces, equipment criticality, maintenance plans, etc. associated with the electrical distribution system and communication systems
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the equipment hierarchy and asset identification of field equipment, electrical monitoring instrumentation, spare equipment inventory, critical equipment, and integrity equipment for Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks, predictive & preventive maintenance (PPM), critical spare parts, and SAP data utilizing appropriate resources such as criticality assessments and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Create and maintain standard job procedures associated with the operation of this equipment in a way that accurately describes the work, identifies hazards and their management
  • Establish and maintain an electrical distribution system renewal program to replace and/or upgrade equipment when this equipment is near end of life and/or when operational needs exceed 80% of the equipment's base rated capacity
  • Administrates Arc Flash studies and program and reviews and develops electrical switching procedures
  • Performs Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and incident investigations on electrical equipment such as substations, transformers, switchgear, Medium Voltage Motors/Adjustable Speed Drivesto prevent re-occurrences and improve systems
  • Ensure that recommendations associated with incident investigations and root cause failure analyses involving the electrical distribution system are appropriate and that they are implemented
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving instrumentation reliability
  • Recommend, and develop as needed, training programs associated with the operation and maintenance of new equipment technology used on site for instance electronic overloads, Smart MCCs, PLC, VFD, radar level, ultrasonic level, Coriolis flow and wireless instruments
  • Maintains relationships with OEM suppliers and local contractors


    To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
    • 8+ years of experience with electrical power systems in industrial plant and fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems
    • Must be knowledgeable of appropriate codes and standards such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEPs)
    • Must have a solid understanding of electrical systems, substations, switchgear equipment, protective relays and instrumentation in a manufacturing environment with strong troubleshooting skills and ability to implement electrical equipment maintenance/ reliability best practices/programs
    • Willing and able to work off-shift hours when required by maintenance or business needs
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with good written and oral communication skills and abilities
    • Good interpersonal skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with inside customers, vendors, operations, site tenants, mechanical and technical personnel; track record of fostering a respectful work environment
    • Must be self-motivated and have great attention to detail
    • Must have ability to learn and collaborate in a dynamic environment
    • Legal right to work in the US without restriction


      The following skill sets are preferred :
      • Associates degree or higher in post-secondary education
      • Successful completion of an IBEW or NCCER apprenticeship program as a journeyman electrician (or equivalent)
      • Knowledge of SAP CMMS
      • Proficient with Microsoft applications
      • Experience in one or more areas of design, maintenance, operation, and construction of electrical power distribution systems

        Pay Range (in local currency):
        $93,184.00 - $145,600.00

        25

        Annual Bonus Target:
        8%
