Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician to join our company at our Laurinburg production facility in Maxton, NC. Corteva offers an excellent benefits package that begins on your first day of employment.

In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant operations and field activities for our soybean operations. Duties and responsibilities will evolve throughout the year. Depending on the season, the Laurinburg plant runs 24/7 (12 hour shifts, 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off), 24/5 (8 hour shifts, day, swing, and grave shifts), 16/5 or 10/5 (8-10 hour shifts, day and swing shifts), or four 10 hour shifts on days. Shift schedule and operational hours will vary depending on the time of year and customer demand.

* Seed field planting and maintenance.
* Return and rework activities.
* Conditioning activities such as sizing, gravity operation, bagging, palletizing, etc.
* Warehousing activities including forklift operation, collecting samples, pooling, etc.
* General repair and maintenance activities.
* Instruction & Leadership:
* Occasionally instruct others and/or serve as lead person on job duties; may help coordinate work activities.
* Identify and promptly communicate issues. Work collaboratively with team and management to resolve.
* Provide continuous improvement input.
* Teamwork and Communications:
* Develop and maintain good communication and rapport with plant personnel, employees from other areas.
* Participate in location meetings.
* Serve on plant teams as assigned.
* Risk Management:
* Attend safety meetings and complete required safety training.
* Manage risks during performance of job duties.
* Recommend and implement safety and operational improvements.
* General Administration:
* Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports
* Will perform minimal data entry on computer.
* May periodically assist with other administrative duties (e.g., shipping assistance, etc.)
* Conduct personal and professional development.
* Train for cross-functional job duties.



What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

* High School diploma or GED equivalent and one year of lab, scheduling, administrative, manufacturing or agriculture related experience
* Willing and able to work in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)
* Willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
* Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
* Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting with or without reasonable accommodation
* Willingness and ability to work overtime hours including weekend work required during seasonal peaks and shifts as needed
* Willingness to work as a team and be proactive in communicating concerns, best practices and mastering changes that will improve overall team performance
* Attention to detail and problem solving skills
* Time management skills including proactive work ethic and utilizing a sense of urgency
* Ability to work independently, multitask and maintain an organized workplace
* Computer aptitude including use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

The following are preferred:

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work are a plus
* Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations desired
* Knowledge of field equipment desired
* SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning software to manage data processing
