I. JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Maintenance Location: NGU Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE To ensure all aspects of the plant mechanical systems are operating at full capacity by performing routine preventive maintenance, including inspecting, replacing or changing any part necessary. III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS None IV. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. V. SUPERVISION REQUIRED Daily work load specified and prioritized. Work quality is required to be verified periodically. Annual review of established goals and work performance. EDUCATION REQUIRED High school diploma or GED required. TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, and pipe fitting. VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment 3 years experience install and maintain process equipment and piping 3 years experience with welding, sound troubleshooting skills and basic electrical wiring experience. IX. TRAVEL REQUIRED Minimal travel required for training and cross training at other Nitta facilities. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Position requires work on nights and weekends. Support, service, and maintain the plant electrical and mechanical components to meet the production goals. Complete preventative maintenance and work required on improvement/capital projects. Other duties as assigned. PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Experience with PLC systems (a plus) Sanitary and non-Sanitary Welding PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required depending on the department where the employee is assigned.
