Job Description Job Description Local Sales Manager – Broadcast Television Station – Myrtle Beach, SC We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Local Sales Manager to lead daily operations of the Sales department, including development of new business and achievement of revenue goals across Broadcast and Digital Platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, managing a team, and developing strategies to grow existing and new business. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager, with accountability for managing a team of experienced Account Executives focused on local direct and agency business. The station emphasizes integrated solutions across linear TV, digital video, OTT/CTV, streaming, and sponsorships to maximize client ROI and station share. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of 5-6 Account Executives to exceed aggressive monthly/quarterly/annual revenue budgets across broadcast, digital, and emerging platforms. Develop and execute strategic local sales plans that grow market share, capture new-to-television business, and deepen existing client relationships. Oversee pricing, inventory management, and packaging strategies in collaboration with the GM and traffic operations to optimize yield. Drive new business development while protecting and expanding key local categories (e.g., automotive, healthcare, retail, QSR, political as applicable). Analyze market trends, competitive activity, Nielsen ratings, and digital performance metrics to identify opportunities and adjust tactics. Partner closely with news, programming, promotion, and digital teams to create compelling, integrated advertising solutions and sponsorship packages. Recruit, train, and retain top sales talent; foster a high-performance, results-oriented culture. Prepare accurate revenue forecasts, pacing reports, and actionable insights for station leadership. Qualifications & Experience Required: 5 years of progressive media sales management experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Local Sales Manager (or equivalent leadership) role at a broadcast television station. Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue goals in a local market, including success in digital/multi-platform sales. Strong understanding of the current broadcast digital ecosystem, including addressable TV, programmatic, OTT/CTV, and data-driven advertising solutions. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop account executives to higher performance levels. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and client-relationship skills; comfortable presenting to C-level executives and agency leaders. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred. Familiarity with sales tools such as WideOrbit, Matrix, Nielsen, ComScore or similar platforms is a plus.
